Mevlana Tea
Why Ceylon tea has a special quality...
Good climatic conditions
This fame is naturally no coincidence. This tea is grown in Sri Lanka, and this island nation, formerly known as Ceylon, has the best climatic conditions. Thanks to the high altitudes, the ocean, and the monsoon, Ceylon tea can be grown all year round, making this island the world's largest tea exporter. Many explain this uniqueness of this black tea with its mild taste and fine aroma. Ceylon tea has larger leaves compared to other tea varieties, and these are harvested all year round using traditional methods. The right blend as a quality factor
However, there are other factors that can make Ceylon tea higher in quality. One of the most important factors is the right blend. When we talk about Ceylon tea, we are actually talking about three different types, and the region plays a decisive role. The Sinhalese, or Ceylonese, distinguish between three regions: regions at sea level (600 to 1200 m), above sea level (1200 m), and below sea level (up to 600 m).
These tea varieties have their own characteristics, and none is superior to the others. Ceylon tea above sea level has a lighter color than the others and offers a wide range of flavors. Ceylon tea in the other regions is darker and has a stronger taste.
