Mevlana Tea
Good drinking water for good tea
pH value 7 as the best spring water
We distinguish between distilled drinking water, spring water, sparkling water, fountain water, filtered tap water, and reverse osmosis water. Distilled water is soft, contains few minerals, and the tea tastes bland.
Spring water is ideal for preparing tea. Drinking water with a pH value of 7 is considered the best spring water for tea. However, sparkling water or fountain water with a pH value above 7 is not recommended.
Hard drinking water should be softened
Whether spring water or distilled water, our drinking water must contain plenty of oxygen and be fresh if we want to prepare a tasty black or green tea. Tap water in Germany meets these criteria. However, you should find out the hardness of the tap water. Hard tap water contains lime, which affects the taste of the tea.
