2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
3 bags Black tea by Mevlana Tee
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1 tsp ground ginger
1 tsp ground cardamom
1/2 tsp allspice
1/2 tsp ground black pepper
1 cup unsalted, softened butter
1 egg
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
Black tea icing for the cardamom cookies
5 tbsp whole milk
2 bags of Mevlana black tea by Goran Tee
1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
Preparing the cardamom cookies in a few simple steps

Step 1: Preheat the oven to 350°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside. In a large bowl, sift together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Cut open the Mevlana tea bags and add the tea leaves to the bowl.
Step 2: In a medium bowl, combine the sugar, cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, allspice, and black pepper.
Step 3: In a stand mixer fitted with a paddle attachment, beat the butter and spice mixture for about 3 minutes until light and fluffy. Mix in the egg and vanilla extract until fully combined. Gradually add the dry ingredients, mixing just until combined.
Step 4: Use a tablespoon to measure out the dough and roll it into balls. Place the dough balls on the prepared baking sheet, spaced about 1 1/2 inches apart. Bake in the preheated oven for 17 to 20 minutes. Allow to cool on the baking sheet for 2 minutes before removing.
Step 5: To make the icing, heat the milk over medium heat. Steep the 2 Mevlana tea bags in the milk for 3 minutes. Squeeze the bags and remove. Stir the milk tea mixture into the confectioners' sugar until smooth. Drizzle the icing over the cardamom cookies using a whisk.
