Der lose Tee und die ideale Aufbewahrung

Loose tea and the ideal storage

Storing loose black tea requires a lot of care. The dry tea leaves are very delicate, so it is important to consider where and under what conditions the loose tea is stored. Certain measures must be taken, especially regarding the environment, storage temperature, and storage container. Otherwise, the loose tea will taste bland. Improper storage can even cause mold, which poses a risk to our health. In this article, we would like to show you what you can do to store it properly.

Loose tea in modern packaging

Loose tea from Mevlana Tea is packaged using modern methods, and we, as Goran Tea, guarantee smooth shipping without packaging errors. You can store this wonderful tea properly at home so that its aroma lasts a long time and the loose tea is not damaged.

For dry storage: protection from moisture in the kitchen

Loose tea needs a suitable storage place. Since loose black tea must be stored dry, you need to be careful if the storage place is the kitchen. Especially dry Ceylon tea must not come into contact with water vapor. In general, the tea should be kept away from the moisture in the kitchen.

Odor-neutral storage: keep strong-smelling foods away!

storage The kitchen is a place where there are many other strongly smelling foods. These include, for example, spices and coffee. Loose tea should by no means be stored with such foods. Otherwise, we will end up drinking something that is a mixture of tea and coffee or spices. This is because tea tends to absorb the odors of other foods, as well as cleaning products.

Airtight and cool storage in a tea tin

Another basic rule is airtight and cool storage. You can achieve this with a good tea tin that closes tightly. However, the tea tin should be placed in a shaded corner where there is no direct sunlight.

Ideal storage in an apothecary jar

Tin containers, jam jars, ceramic containers, or cherrywood containers are also suitable as storage containers. Brown apothecary jars with a tight screw cap are ideal. These protect the tea from excessive light exposure. It is best to avoid old coffee tins or other empty tins that cannot guarantee odor-neutral storage. Storage in the refrigerator is not necessary at all. It is important that the loose tea is stored in the shade and comes into contact with only a small amount of oxygen. If you do not pay attention to this, you can expect a harsh and sour taste.
